Woodbridge

Woodbridge is located approximately 20 miles south of Washington, D.C. Evidence of colonial history lives on at Rippon Lodge, a mid 18th century plantation that still stands today. Some of Woodbridge’s history is tied to the Neabsco Creek, which provided the necessary resources to establish one of the first iron furnaces in Northern Virginia. Woodbridge’s rural setting was home to a development boom in the mid 1980’s.

Quality of Life:

Woodbridge caters to its community. The Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge allows residents to explore Virginia’s tidal shores and corresponding habitats. Leesylvania State Park is also worthy of praise. What is now a public park was once thought to be the site of an old Algonquian village. It was also the site of the Lee Family’s home. Everyone loves the Potomac Nationals. There is a host of amenities in Woodbridge including retail outlets and the Potomac Mills Mall.

Getting Around:

I-95 is Woodbridge’s main thoroughfare. Commuters can pick up the VRE at the Amtrak station on Express Drive. Route 1 and the Prince William Parkway are also major thoroughfares.
